How many independant escorts are there in Calgary? They keep popping up all over the place. Think some of the new ones are undercover cops?
Calgary seems to be bad for that. |

My thoughts exactly! I've been around for a while and I know something isn't right these days. I guess just check to see if the girls have been reviewed before by a pooner who has a reputation... That's the only way to be sure or at least a little more secure.

So what are they gonna charge a dude with?
Soliciting in public? Phone and incall are considered private places... Car is not.
Found in a bawdy house? only if there are 2+ girls there and LE raid it...
Set up photo radar? - and snap a shot of your hairy ass - that's IT..! 
LE want to fine unlicensed girls ($2000+) which for sure has been going on. |

That, and now some ladies have actually gotten solicitating charges. LE is bumping it up a couple notches these days and becoming more and more agressive.
Where does it say in the criminal code that there needs to be 2+ ladies in one location to be considered a comon bawdy house? |

Exactly. It doesn't say it because you don't need 2 or more... all that is needed, is ONLY one girl receiving money for sexual services for it to be legally considered a bawdy house. That means a girl seeing clients at her own private residence, even if she is the only one seeing clients and even if it is her home.... it is still considered a bawdy house. And it is illegal.
The difference with this type of offense is that it is generally overlooked. Unless a girl attract attention to herself and neighbors/landlord start complaining, or if under aged girl/s are involved - it's discreet enough and well hidden enough that LE in most Canadian cities could not be bothered & would have a tough time justifying their spending time/money going after this type of offense when we all know there are about 100 more important, urgent and critical issues they already say they lack funding and resources to handle! These are federal offenses aren't they? One more reason they could not justify not only using their own resources, but also the judicial system resources. I'm sure everyone would be thrilled with their holding up judges and court employees to deal with the little sp working out of her home to pay for tuition or to provide for her kids instead of actual criminal procedures and criminals that actually are a threat to society!! Sorry! That'll be the day!
Now does that mean they don't wish they could go after girls for these offenses? In Calgary, I'm sure they would love to to. And that's why they're using the only loophole they've come up with so far (retarded bylaw farce) because truly, it's not really up to them to make that decision. And when money's at stake (or lack of), those who it is up to, aren't likely to give theory blessing on wasting money like that. Especially if they want to stay popular enough to get re-elected. 
When SP's start getting nabbed, it won't be for bawdy house offenses, it'll be the taxman wanting his share. It's all about money... that's where the money is, NOT in catching SP's for silly bawdy house offense. IMO. |

Isn't that the truth... But there's also that little law against "Living Off The Avails"... Taxman can't get their hands in sp's pockets unless that law is removed. For now the best the government can do is fine the "Unlicensed Escorts" and try to push the rest of the sp's to become "licensed Escorts" and get tax money that way. |
